Kirksville, MO reminder: Opportunity to address council re: potential BSL tonight

Kirksville city council is mulling the idea of a “pit bull” (and possibly Rottweiler and other “vicious breeds”) ban.

They will be meeting tonight, June 7, at 6:00 PM. Although the proposal is not on the agenda, the public may take this opportunity to express their thoughts about the proposal to city council members.

Check out the news article at this link to understand the rationale being used by council members to propose the ban. It is fueled by fear, a lack of animal control resources, and illogical conclusions drawn from statistics, among other things. http://stopbsl.com/2010/05/23/kirksville-mo-breed-ban-proposed/

The city council meets the first & third Monday of every month at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall Council Chambers.
