As a citizen of Delcambre i have a real big problem with this oridance. i am a proud owner of a very beautiful dobermen pintcher. This dog is two years old and has never showed and aggrression towards humans or other dogs, but yet according to one police officer i have to put a muzzle on my dog while the chief and another police officer says there is no need for this. I feel that they are getting way out of hand with this oridance the choose to force laws like this because the dog is of a bigger breed while not forcing the lease law. I have complained to three officers about dogs not on a lease trying to attack my dog while on our walk and i have called the police department on another. When called they showed up to the resident of the dog owner who was not even home and never returned to handle the issue. also while talking to one of the officers about the problem he replied that i should load my dog in my truck and take him to the park. there are many problems with this including one the Delcambre park has no walk ways for walking, the Erath park doesn’t allow dogs on the walk ways, and finally my dog is on a leash properly and i should be able to walk him anywhere without burning my gas and worring if another dog will attack. which brings me to the final thing if these dogs were to attack how will my dog defend himself if there is a muzzle on his mouth. There is always civil suit against the dog owner but the people who let their dogs do this will never pay for the damages in a timely manner. So what do i do about this situation. I for one will be a this meeting and i do want answers on this and other things.
