Edit 2/17/11: This bill did not pass, but Rep. Gobi has refiled it. The new bill number and new info will be provided soon.

Massachusetts HB 913 will be heard by the Joint Committee on Financial Services on Wednesday, October 14, at 10:00 AM in Room A-2 of the State House. This is a bill to SUPPORT. The public is encouraged to show up and testify at the hearing.

Massachusetts HB 913 would prohibit insurers from discriminating against homeowners based on the homeowners’ breed of dog.

Previous alert: http://stopbsl.com/2009/06/19/massachusetts-hb-913-would-prohibit-insurance-breed-discrimination/

It also requires all dog bites that result in medical attention to be reported to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. The biting dog’s breed is supposed to be included in the report.
