I have owned and showed Staffordshire Bull Terriers for approx. 40 years and have NEVER been bitten, threatened or mauled by any of this breed. We also had an American Staffordshire Terrier in the family and no problem with him either. We had three of our breed when we were raising our two children and they could not have been with safer dogs, they occasionally even slept with them on the floor and only ever received love from the dogs. People are the problem here, not the dogs. I agree they should not be out without a leash just as NO dog should be out without supervision and restraint and don’t you already have laws for that on the books? After reading about the two attacks on Dandridge citizens it would appear the offending dogs were out without leashes or supervision, perhaps you should enforce your existing laws to avoid trouble. Please do not make life impossible for these dogs or their owners just because you have a few people that are breaking the laws you already have.
