Reminder: Ohio HB 79 hearing, April 14, 9:30 AM

Ohio HB 79, which removes the breed specific language from state law, will be heard by the Agriculture Committee on April 14 at 9:30 AM in Statehouse Room 18 (ground floor).

This bill needs our support. If it does not pass the committee, it will die, and all dogs that look like “pit bulls” will continue to be considered prima facie “vicious dogs” in the entire state of Ohio.

Thanks to Rachele, who passed along this info from a legislative aide: “Any citizen is permitted to come in to committee and give testimony on the bill, as long as 30 copies of your written testimony is provided for the committee members review. This is the best way to get your thoughts and opinions heard by committee members.”
