Ohio: Committee to hear HB 14 and HB 25 on Feb 2

Ohio currently has statewide breed-specific legislation that declares all “pit bulls” to be “vicious” dogs. HB 14 and HB 25 are two separate bills that would remove the breed-specific language from state law.

Both HB 14 and HB 25 are scheduled to be heard by the House Criminal Justice Committee on February 2 at 9:00 AM in Room 114.

If you are a resident of Ohio, please make every effort to attend the committee hearing and show your support for the removal of breed-specific language.

    If we can not make it we can email the listed people to show our support of these bills to show our support?

      Yes, the contact information is for the committee members who will be hearing the bills and deciding whether or not to let them move forward. Please keep correspondence polite and concise; these members are legislators who have to hear and decide on many bills, not just these.

    I am a resident in neighboring Pennsylvania. I am a responsible teacher, property owner and owner of a pitbull. She is a well behaved, friendly dog. She visits the residents of dementia units in nursing homes, and is a welcome guest. She is not agressive toward people or other animals, and plays and sleeps with my pet cat. Please judge a dog by it’s breeding and the actions of it’s owner, not the breed.
