Kenton, TN: BSL passed

Thanks to Jodi for this update.

Very disappointing, yet not surprising, news out of Kenton, Tennessee. According to the city clerk, at last night’s Board of Aldermen meeting, city officials passed an ordinance regulating the ownership of pit bulls and rottweilers. It was my understanding that the ordinance required three readings, and last night would have been the second reading. However, the clerk assured me that the ordinance was passed and will go into effect.

As is common in small, rural Tennessee towns, two votes were taken in one night to push the ordinance through and limit opposition to the same. Kenton dog owners affected by this ordinance are encouraged to challenge its passing.
