The council was considering a new retroactive registration fee for “pit bull” owners, on top of its current breed-specific ordinance. After strong community feedback against the retroactive fee and the breed-specific ordinance in general, the council deferred a vote on the fee and also said they may consider revamping the dog ordinance in a breed-neutral direction.
